REBONDING PROMO (AUGUST)

8 Daily Habits That Damage Your Hair

1. Severe sun exposure
Your tresses are your scalp’s first line of defense against sunburn, but that doesn’t mean the sun won’t affect your hair. Hair that is exposed to the harsh sun for long periods of time can look dry, frizzy and turn brittle. Make sure to keep hair protected by wearing a hat, cap or a scarf around your hair and look for a shampoo with SPF or strengthening ingredients. Visit Pals Salon at least once a month for hair treatments to repair damages caused by the sun's rays.

2. Fragile when wet
Hair is at its most vulnerable when wet, so make sure to treat it with kid gloves right after taking a bath. Avoid toweling vigorously. Instead, squeeze out the water and wrap hair in an absorbent towel to help dry it minus the damage potential. The same goes for detangling it while wet—running a brush or small-toothed comb through it could break the hair shaft and result in frizzy hair with split ends. Use a wide-toothed comb through wet locks or just finger comb it and leave it alone until it dries.
Better yet, finger comb and detangle when you’re waiting for your conditioner to soak through hair; this will keep locks soft and smooth. Keep hair tangle free from the start by washing it straight down—avoid piling it on top of your head and scrubbing vigorously. It’s a given that tying hair while wet is a major no-no; this will cause falling hair and will stretch the hair shaft resulting in breakage.

3. Pulling your hair back
If your hectic lifestyle leaves you always pulling up your hair in a tight ponytail, bun or braid, chances are that you see more of your hair falling out in the shower or even when you’re out and about. Too tight hairstyles may actually cause “traction alopecia”, which could result in (gulp!) baldness over time. Pulling back locks in severe hairstyles may result in hair breakage near the root and falling hair. This doesn't mean you can't ever tie your hair. Bolster your hair’s strength by looking for a product that also keeps hair strong at the root.
 4. Hot or not
Tony Dusich, hairstylist and instructor at the Center for Aesthetic Studies always reminds clients to turn down the heater dial when washing hair. “Using water that is too hot on hair can result in dryness, falling hair, and breakage,” he confirms. Maintain your hair’s healthy state in the shower by washing it in lukewarm or cool water.

5. Using a cotton pillow case
Who knew hair could be such a diva? Using a cotton pillow case can result in rougher, frizzier hair. The friction of a cotton pillow case against fragile hair can also cause breakage, and cotton has the capacity to absorb your hair’s natural moisture, making your locks drier. Switch to a satin pillowcase and a conditioner that has smoothening properties.

6. Playing it rough
The hair experts on Facebook (facebook.com/hairexperts) recommend looking for accessories that are gentle on the hair. Using rough hats, sharp hairpins or rough elastics on the hair can also damage the hair shaft which could cause split ends and breakage, too.

7. Picking at strands
Have you found yourself picking at your hair while bored? We admit, we’re sometimes guilty of pulling apart split ends or pulling out the occasional gray hair. As much fun as it can be, pulling at split ends is the hair equivalent of picking at zits. Keep hands to yourself and leave your locks alone.

 8. Forgetting to trim
Hair that doesn’t get its monthly trim will result in creeping split ends and makes you more prone to falling hair. Make sure to stop by your favorite stylist and have the ends trimmed every now and then. Visit Pals Salon for your regular trim.

AFTER REBONDING HAIR CARE TIPS

  1. After a rebonding procedure, do not wet your hair for 3 days to let the chemicals soak in and make your rebond last. Just suck up the feeling that your hair gets greasy for a few days and avoid any parties for the moment. Avoid swimming after a rebond.
  2. After a rebonding procedure, do not tie your hair or put your hair behind your ears.
  3. After a rebonding procedure, when you sleep make sure your hair is straight and your head is not trapping your hair in a weird angle.
  4. After 3 days, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. Apply the conditioner at the tip of your hair for 5 minutes. Wash off your hair thoroughly of any residue.
  5. Use a deep conditioner or hair mask once a week. Use a leave-on conditioner or hair serum after towel drying your hair. Using a leave-on conditioner after washing will add shine and help provide the oil and moisture your hair has lost.
  6. Do not use any heated electric instruments, not even a hair dryer. If you need to dry your hair quickly and hair dryer is unavoidable then use on cold air function where it will only blow lots of air.
  7. Avoid using a brush since the movements may cause tension in the hair instead use a wide toothed comb.
  8. Don’t even think of any other chemical treatment after rebonding your hair, your stylist may recommend you for highlighting or any other service after a gap of 1 month or so but do not get carried away “STAY AWAY”. Once rebonded don’t think of doing anything to your hair for at least 6 months, not even a touch up.
  9. Oil and steam your hair every fifteen days. You can wrap a towel dipped in warm water, around your hair. This will deep condition your hair.
  10. If you need to iron your hair, use a ceramic flat iron. If you are going to blow-dry your hair, use an additional protein spray. It has substances that coat and protect the hair from heat, dirt and sun, while nourishing the hair at the same time.
  11. A balanced diet is very important include a lot of nuts, sprouts and red meat in your diet, your hair is made up of protein and to nourish it you need to feed it with the right food.
  12.  Have your hair trimmed on a regular basis; every three months would be ideal. If your ends split, this split can travel along the hair shaft, causing damage further up. Do not hang on to damaged hair for the sake of its length.

    NEW HAIRCUT, forget the boho!

Summer is no way far anymore and having a long hair, straight cut glossy or having a boho chic like hairstyle is out of style already. Let's say hi to Bob, the newest trend of hair flick all over town, unless your late updated. ;)

Let's see the top boho-chic who had her hair from long boho-chic waves, to short bobs. ;)

Miley Cyrus's NEW HAIRCUT which says forget the boho.
Once upon a time Miley Cyrus had struck the perfect boho balance with long luscious locks and edgy threads. But alas, that time is over and the erstwhile Hannah Montana has landed with a thud–again–in Uglytown. The singer/actress showed off her haircut in atrocious diaper-like bob shorts which she paired tragically with L’eggs pantyhose.

I am thisclose to declaring Miley the Hot Mess of the year, but do you think we should give MC a few more chances to redeem her fashion faux pas?

Was Miley trying to upstage her new
A-list beau, Liam Hemsworth? Or, even more terrifying, could this have been M’s attempt at subtlety? But at least, we know she's on the go! :)

    GREATNESS STARTS @ HOME :)

My name is Louielyn. I'm  20 years of age. Just like the other girls, I'm just an ordinary girl with an extra ordinary flavor.

Yes indeed life is a roller coaster. But it's your choice to scream out loud or just enjoy the ride. :)

2009 was a turbulent time in my life.  My parents enrolled me in home-schooling program without consultation and they practically coerced me to work in our family business. Little did they know this is child labor and I was one very upset teenager. My father reasoned, “you will learn a lot more this way than in school.”  To my mind, it was plain and simple manipulation. I could not see logic behind that statement.  “What about the interaction you learn in a school setting, the love and friendship you find around campus….. I maybe young, but I’m not a fool.” I retorted.

Intimidated by my dictator-father’s rule, I disgustedly obeyed his orders. There’s nothing I could do. I was rebellious, but suppressed by fear.   Like the kung fu kid who abhorred his drop-pick-up –put-on-put-off jacket routine, I despised my rote existence. I could run away, but I could not relinquish the security and comfort of my home.  I know my time was being wasted.  My life flashed before my eyes; it was a hopeless scenario. I told myself to kiss achieving greatness goodbye, let alone from this home.

On top of the home-school program, my father gave me a lot of duties in the family owned parlor and around the house. This was where it gotten really bad. I could not contain my hatred. I objected and negated every word he had said to spite him. Our daily arguments would end up with me sobbing in my solitude.  I was afraid to get out of my comfort zone.

At times where I could not take any more, my mother would comfort me.  Alone in my room, one day, while I was devising a plan to escape my hapless situation, I thought, I heard my mom said, “follow your father's lead.” I turned around but she was not there. I felt the fire burning inside me was abruptly extinguished.

“To be a good leader, you must be a good follower." This adage was the essence of my mother’s message. Little did I know, my father was molding me to be a good follower. This changed my outlook. My parents were right all along.  It seemed I learned a lot more.  I felt more confident. And as I became more receptive to their teachings, my frustrations and ill-feelings dissipated. Now, I’d jump out of bed each morning eager to face new challenges. I’m grateful for my parents’ patience and perseverance. They surreptitiously ingrained in me the value of hard work and discipline.

Looking back 3 years down that road, it was the safety and comfort of my home that carried me through the tumult, caused by my naiveté. I can’t imagine what would have happened should I have left my wonderful home.

I am currently working as the managing director of  Pals Salon, a family business. It’s our main source of income and entrusting it to me with full authority is my greatest honor and achievement. This is how my greatness started@home.

(one successful wedding service at pangasinan (; )
I'M A ONE GOOD BEAUTY STYLIST OF MY GENERATION :)

My parents started a greatness at home that is something to be proud of.
